How Hard Is Greenhouse Assembly? The Honest Answer

It's the question we get more than any other. And most greenhouse brands give you the same vague answer: "easy to assemble" or "no professional tools required."

Here's what assembly actually involves — no sugarcoating.

The short answer

If you can put together flat-pack furniture, you can build a ZenGreenhouse. Most customers complete a standard-size greenhouse in one to two days with one helper.

What arrives

Your greenhouse ships on a freight pallet. Everything is labeled and organized by assembly stage. When it arrives, count the boxes and check them against the packing list before signing anything. Note any visible damage on the delivery receipt — this matters for replacements.

Tools you need

• Power drill with Phillips bit
• Rubber mallet
• Level
• Tape measure

That's it. No specialist tools. No welding. No concrete.

The assembly process

Most modular greenhouses follow the same sequence: lay out the base frame, connect the arc sections, attach the cross-bars, then fit the polycarbonate or glass panels. The manual walks through every step with diagrams. Nothing requires guesswork.

The most common mistake is rushing the base. Take your time getting the foundation level — everything else follows from that. Twenty minutes on a level base saves hours of frustration later.

Do you need help?

One helper makes it significantly faster and easier — some of the arc sections are awkward for one person to hold in position while fastening. It's not impossible solo, but two people is the right setup.
